O Lord my God, I cried unto you, and you have healed me. Psalm 30:2

14 Sep

God is still in the healing business today.  He wants to heal our bodies.  He wants to heal our hearts.  He wants to heal our marriages.  He wants to heal our cities.  He wants to heal His people.  The question is, are we crying out to Him?  God is willing and ready; are we ready?  The New Testament talks about a man, a blind man, that sat by the road as a crowd of people walked by….a crowd in which Jesus was in the midst.  The blind man cried out.  He cried out Jesus’ name, and the Lord heard Him.  The crowd and all eternity stood still as Jesus made His way to the blind man.  Jesus asked the blind man what he wanted.

Our God, Jesus, all-knowing, all-powerful, asks this man what He wanted!  Jesus already knew that this man was blind!  Jesus knew very well what it was that this man wanted.  I believe that Jesus put the ball on this man’s court.  Jesus was looking past his blindness.  Jesus was looking at his heart.  The man could have said, “Are you for real?  You are Jesus, I’ve heard about You…You’re supposed to know what it is I need.”  But no, this man did not get offended.  Instead, he cried out one more time.  He wanted to see again.  And you know what, He healed him.

Be encouraged today.  He hears our cries.  He wants to heal us.  Can you hear Him asking you, “What do you want me to do?”  Go ahead.  Be bold.  And like David, you will see your healing.
